The Austin Boardwalk Trail is a fairly new addition to Lady Bird Lake. It was completed in June 2014 and has provided a beautiful lakeside view to admire the beauty that Austin has to offer. Unlike walking the trails at Zilker Park, the Boardwalk is actually on the lake so that you may enjoy the scenery without the obstruction of trees and other shrubbery. This trail, like many in Austin, is completely free to the public, and is a very popular spot for both tourists and locals to visit. The Boardwalk is a 10 mile long trail with public restrooms, water fountains, and even some food trucks along the way. You can even set off to go either paddle boarding or kayaking straight from one of the many piers at some affordable rates of $15 – $20 per hour!
The Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake is one of the coolest spots in Austin to visit, especially to see the Austin skyline across the lake, you don’t want to miss it!
