I am so happy that I was able to travel to Mykonos, Greece this past summer. When I think about Greece, the main images that pop in my head are the picturesque white buildings scattered across the hills, all decorated with popping flowers. Let me tell you, this island definitely lived up to that expectation! And yes, the water is just as blue as the pictures you’ve seen! I never thought I would want to move to a place by the sea, but Mykonos clearly changed my mind and made it on my list of favorite places I’ve visited so far.
With small whitewashed stone villages, everything felt so wonderfully fresh (the sea breeze didn’t hurt either!) Mykonos Town, or Chora, is the island’s capital on the western side which houses iconic landmarks such as the beautiful Paraportiani Church and the windmills. We stayed mainly in this area as we were able to easily walk around to the sightseeing locations, and we only saw but a few cars and scooters the entire time.
The island makes it so easy to walk to new stunning locations, and without feeling the need for a vehicle. I believe that walking even enhances the experience, making you feel like a local, navigating through the streets. It was the perfect little place for exploring while listening to the waves in the distance, and basking in the sunlight. During the day it is very peaceful, but at night it is a whole different scene with thumping dance music and world-renowned DJs creating a party nightlife. We were unable to experience the island at night, but a few hours during the day was more than enough time for us to fall in love.
Mykonos, Greece was definitely love at first site, and I hope I inspire you to travel there as well to create your own memories! Scroll on down to check out these 20 photos that I snapped during my visit to inspire you even more.
Have you visited Mykonos, Greece before? What did you think?

Great to see what the island and streets look like with sunlight on them. When we there for our honeymoon, the day we landed, it was pouring. But it didnt stop us from enjoying some of the sites, walking down the streets, having dinner at one of the local restaurants. It was actually a great time with barely anyone around. I think we have a picture of the same tree with purple flowers
I've never been to Mykonos. Your photo's are lovely and you make it look so enticing.
